Ice

Water droplets frozen in place…

Ice

Unusual weather often provides unique photo opportunities. Fight the urge to stay inside where it’s warm and dry. Get outside with your camera, even if it’s not a weather-sealed pro model. There are plenty of ways to protect your camera and lens from the elements. Even something as inexpensive as OP/TECH’s simple rain cover can offer solid protection from light rain and snow. If you’re photographing in winter, try carrying a large ziploc bag with you. Bringing a camera from the cold into a warm house can cause condensation to form on your equipment, and moisture can be the enemy of all electronic devices – placing the camera in a ziploc bag before you go inside will allow the condensation to form on the bag, rather than the camera.
