Hanging on

Sedum in Winter

A sedum seed head stubbornly refuses to give in to the sometimes crushing weight of ice and snow. Shot today with a Nikon D80 while the temperature was approximately 8°F. I spent 30 minutes shooting in the frigid temps. My fingers nearly froze – even wearing two pairs of gloves – but my camera never did. Unless you’re heading to some of the most extreme environments around the globe, most consumer DSLRs are tough enough to handle just about anything you can throw at them.
