The Nikon F to Sony e-mount adapter arrived just as the sun was sinking slowly in the west. I had just enough time to capture a few quick images…

First impressions – pretty sharp, even at f/3.5. Not much in the way of chromatic aberrations – just a tiny, tiny bit of purple fringing in areas of extremely high contrast. The Nikkor-Q Auto 135mm f/3.5 is a bit of a sleeper lens – it has a good reputation amongst those who’ve had experience with it, but it’s not a sexy super-fast lens, so it tends to be ignored by most people. That’s fine by me, since the lack of widespread interest meant I paid less than $50 for an excellent copy. So far it looks like a real bargain.

One word of warning – if you pick up one of these, don’t try mounting it to a modern Nikon DSLR, as it’ll damage most modern Nikons.
