I dodged the raindrops early this evening to create this image, with the help of a small flash held off camera. I don’t use flash often for nature photos – macro and fill light for wildlife are the only occasions when the flash comes out, and even then not very often – but it does occasionally come in handy when the natural light is not cooperating.
If you’re watching the news here in the states, you know that raindrops are the least of some people’s concerns at the moment. I’d like to send my thoughts and condolences to those affected by the bombings in Boston. Neil Young once famously said “rust never sleeps.” Neither does cruelty and insanity, apparently.
