“Too Much Holiday Cheer”
Olympus OM-D E-M5
Olympus 75mm f/1.8

About eight inches of snow has fallen since New Year’s Eve. It could be worse, as areas just to the north have received double that amount. More snow on the way, along with record-setting cold arriving this Sunday. The current forecast from local WGN

Sunday
HIGH/LOW
19°F/-12°F
Arctic cold front arrives.
Clouds and snow showers accompany plunging temps. Readings in the upper teens early, drop well below zero overnight. NW winds 15 to 25 mph.

Monday
HIGH/LOW
-8°F/-18°F
Bitterly cold.
Polar vortex sinks south across the Great lakes. Daytime temps remain below zero. Readings hover near -20 degrees overnight. Biting NW winds produce dangerous wind chills.

Tuesday
HIGH/LOW
-4°F/-15°F
Core of coldest air shifts east, but readings still fail to reach the zero mark.
NW winds 15 to 25 mph lower wind chills to near -40 degrees. Winds diminish in the afternoon.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a winter like this one. Looks as if I’ll be hibernating for awhile.
