About this blog
What is this blog about? I’ll be damned if I know. Allegedly it’s a photography blog – as if the world needs another one of those…
Fortunately – or unfortunately, depending upon your perspective – my attention span is too short, and my interests too varied to focus exclusively on a single topic. Oh, there will be photos, to be sure. Lots of them, mostly of the nature variety. It’s been said that a photographer should show only his best work, and I try to follow that philosophy over on my portfolio site. On this blog however, things will be a bit less “stuffy.” Along with more serious work, there will be a generous helping of “interesting experiments” and “just for fun” images, along with images that are purely instructive in nature. A big part of this blog will be passing along the photographic lessons I’ve learned. To be clear, I do not claim to be an expert, and I most certainly do not believe that I possess all the answers. Far from it. The opinions expressed on this blog are just that – opinions. Don’t assume that I’m always correct, because I most certainly do not. I’m always learning, always growing, as a photographer, and hopefully, as a person. There are plenty of other fine photographic resources available across the internet. Make use of them, I certainly do. The more opinions you consider, the closer you’ll come to the essential truth.
There will also be posts about nature, conservation, horticulture, and photo gear recommendations. Finally, be prepared for me to wander off the trail from time to time, and discuss subjects that have little or nothing to do with the above.
Comments are welcome and very much appreciated, as long as they’re respectful in tone. I hope you find something of value on these pages as you join me on my journey. At the very least, I hope you enjoy the images.
